G3ict
G3ict is a flagship partnership initiative of GAID, the United Nations Global Initiative for ICT and Development. G3ict is headed by W2i, the Wireless Internet Institute, in cooperation with the Secretariat for the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights and Dignity of Persons with Disabilities and UNITAR, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.
Designed as a two-year program to foster multi-stakeholder participation and dialogue, G3ict is supported by voluntary contributions from private sector companies. The Initiative has participating parties representing ICT vendors, major users of ICTs in industry, and the public sector (international institutions, organizations, and government). As one of the participating parties, rClient is working with the G3ict as an advisor in the implementation of their goals.
W2i
W2i is an independent think tank bringing together stakeholders around the world to accelerate the adoption of wireless Internet in support of universal connectivity for economic, social and educational development. rClient Founder and President, James Farstad, is a regular participant in the Digital Cities Conventions sponsored by W2i and is a collaborator on the conference planning team.
